Report for RFI English broadcast on 24th October 2013. French industries are struggling as companies move offshore to take advantage of cheaper manufacturing costs in countries like China and India. In a bid to reverse the decline, French politicians are urging people to “buy French” to revive local economies. I meet a Frenchman, Benjamin Carle, who is trying to see whether you can really live a life that is entirely “Made in France”.
