Pop-up restaurant spices up Paris food scene

Report for RFI English broadcast on 4th November 2013. France is renowned for having some of the best chefs and culinary traditions in the world. But that reputation has taken a hit lately after nearly a third of French restaurants admitted to serving reheated frozen meals. A group of young chefs is trying to rejuvenate Paris’s food scene by creating spontaneous, pop-up restaurants where diners can sample the best of the country’s produce.
